Ivy 1.0b1 is a Virtual User 2.0 external tool and task library that enables Virtual User scripters to capture and compare screen images. You can get information about Virtual User 2.0 from the Apple Programmers and Developers Association(APDA).

IVY SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
Ivy 1.0b1 requires Virtual User 2.0 or greater, System 7.0 or greater, and the Apple Event® Manager 1.0.1 or greater.
IVY HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
Ivy 1.0 should work on all Macintosh models after and including the Macintosh Plus.
IVY INSTALLATION
Before installing Ivy, you should read the sections on installing and using external tools in the Virtual User 2.0 manuals. This README file and the Ivy Task Library documentation assumes you have read this material.
Because of a bug in an earlier version of the Apple Event® Manager, Ivy requires the Apple Event® Manager 1.0.1 system extension provided with this package —be sure to put this extension into the System Folder of all your Ivy Macintoshes and restart them.
Ivy 1.0b1 captures and compares target screen images ON the target machines. Therefore, you must put Ivy onto each target on which you wish to capture and compare screen images.
IVY MEMORY REQUIREMENTS
Ivy's default Finder 'Preferred Memory Size' is relatively small. If you plan on capturing and comparing large color screen images, you should increase Ivy's memory partition.
NOTE TO V.U. SCRIPTERS:
To guarantee future compatibility with Ivy do NOT direcly access the external tool's services. Instead use ONLY the Ivy tasks found in the Ivy Task Library.
